A No-Kill All Breed Dog Rescue

Yoshiko Is A Lucky Boy

Yoshi

Yoshiko (Lucky child) came to us with his 2 siblings at about 5 weeks old. There were four pups on the Reserve, but one passed away before we were called in to pick them up. The remaining pups were all very sick, one was so covered in burrs it couldn’t even walk. Yoshiko and his siblings had been attacked by an adult dog.

They were taken to the vet, but Yoshiki’s siblings did not survive. They were weak due to an infestation of parasites.

Yoshi spent 2-3 days on i.v. fluids and made a remarkable recovery. He still has a mark on his head because he was shaved to clean the wound and inspect it. He is a great little guy who thinks cuddling is the best ever!

The vet bills for these pups has been overwhelming for our rescue and we could really use your help.

About Misty Creek Dog Rescue
Founded in 1998 as a no-kill shelter, Misty Creek Dog Rescue is one of many volunteer-run shelters in Western Canada shouldering the burden of the thousands of animals who are abandoned, abused or surrendered every year. Misty Creek Dog Rescue takes in dogs from pounds, reserves, other shelters and voluntary owner surrenders providing them with medical care, vaccinations, and behavioural training with the aim of finding them forever homes. Because of the strict no-kill mandate, dogs may stay at the shelter for years until they are successfully placed with a suitable family. Working closely with foster home volunteers, they have saved over 2300 dogs.
