About Misty Creek Dog Rescue
Founded in 1998 as a no-kill shelter, Misty Creek Dog Rescue is one of many volunteer-run shelters in Western Canada shouldering the burden of the thousands of animals who are abandoned, abused or surrendered every year. Misty Creek Dog Rescue takes in dogs from pounds, reserves, other shelters and voluntary owner surrenders providing them with medical care, vaccinations, and behavioural training with the aim of finding them forever homes. Because of the strict no-kill mandate, dogs may stay at the shelter for years until they are successfully placed with a suitable family. Working closely with foster home volunteers, they have saved over 2300 dogs.

    From Rocco’s foster home:
He’s an AMAZING dog. Pretty low energy, but does need daily mental and physical stimulation (limited right now because of his leg). After a walk, he just wants to hang around at home. Loves being around people, amazing with other dogs. Tolerant of my high-energy guy harassing him to play even when he’s tired! Has had no accidents since being here. He’s close to being crate trained, although was anxious for the first little while (new home, new surroundings?) Awesome on car rides. Learning how to walk beside me, but after the first time he’s doing extremely good with a little guidance. Rocco is a smart dog, and is going to make someone very happy – he’s a hard one to give up!
