Well hello there! My name is Tucker. I am great with other dogs and kids. I’m not too mischievous as long as there’s plenty toys and chew sticks I can grab and find my people to lay next too. I love food and haven’t shown any aggression towards little fingers or other dogs that want to share. I know to go to the bathroom outside. Learning to walk on a leash is the newest skill I have mastered, but I do love to walk myself by tugging on the leash when we first leave the house. I am curiously cautious meeting new people and pets, but I warm up to them in no time. I have come to love a good game of fetch, and have great recall when I’m off leash at the dog park. I stick pretty close to my people since I’m still learning the ropes and they keep me safe. When I’m in my kennel I’m a quiet boy, all night long! About Deene:
Deene is one of the pups from the puppy mill fire. Deene is a very busy little dog and is still quite puppyish. He can be quite mischievous and will find things to investigate. He is very timid around new people and if given the choice, he will go in his kennel. However, if you take him out and someone new holds him, he will stay and be pet. He is pee pad trained and doesn’t have accidents anywhere in the house. He is put outside regularly and will do his business out there. His tummy doesn’t tolerate treats very well, so half a milk bone or a bit of liver treats is enough for him. He loves other dogs. His foster brother Charlie is his best friend. He likes to groom Charlie’s face. When told to leave Charlie alone, he listens. He likes to run outside and likes walks, but only when Charlie is there. He really likes his toys and takes them all out of the toy box and eventually over to Charlie’s bed to play with them all day long. His favorite toy is probably a cat toy with a bell in it and an empty water bottle. Deene loves to be pet and have his ears massaged. He seems to like cheek kisses as well. He is still quite scared around new people, especially men. His foster would recommend that Deene be adopted into a house with a young, well-adjusted dog so he can learn to trust and have a playmate.

Pennie is a very sweet girl who loves to cuddle and play. She has quite a bit of energy and loves toys. She loves going on walks (lots of them) and playing fetch (she brings back the ball half the time). She knows how to sit and stay when being fed food and treats. She also knows how to lay down if you put your finger on the ground and say down. She sits to get her leash on and off before and after walks. She loves to take an afternoon nap and cuddle on your lap. Positive reinforcement works well in shaping her behaviour. She is kennel trained but cries at night if she hears someone get up, but won’t cry for long. She can go the night without peeing. She cries when you leave the house but not for long. She is still a puppy and tries to eat everything in site. If you keep her occupied with treats and toys, she does well. She seems to understand the drop it command. She is learning to go to the back door when she needs to pee but still has an accident every once and a while, this will get better with time and training. She pulls a little when on a leash but that is just because she is a curious puppy, she can be trained out of this. She loves other dogs, cats, and kids. She will be a great addition to any loving active family.

Parker is very friendly and loving. He gets along well with other dogs and kids of all ages. Parker loves to play, follow his foster parents from room to room, and get lots of snuggle time in. While Parker is a bit timid in new situations, once he adapts, his personality shines. He does not appear to have a lot of formal training, but is learning incredibly fast by observing his foster brother and doing everything he does. He would be well suited to a home with another medium to large dog to imitate. Parker has quickly learned to sit for treats (and occasionally will lay down on command), is slowly becoming accustomed to a kennel, and follows his foster brother outside to do his business. He has not had any accidents in the house! Parker is waiting for some patient and gentle adopters to call his forever family.

Tookie is an extremely affectionate and cuddly boy. He loves belly rubs and attention. He is good with new people, kids and other dogs. He loves any type of food and treats; this makes it easier for his foster family to train him. He can be stubborn doing tricks without a treat or kibble. He is house trained, calm on car rides, likes to be brushed, and loves the snow. He has good recall most of the time, especially when you have treats or make sounds to entice him. His prey drive is pretty low. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, he is in good health and has great teeth. He dominates smaller and older dogs, he will try to play with them even when they are not interested. He can be destructive if not walked/run regularly and if he gets bored. He is easily corrected and will stop if he is doing something undesirable. He is great on a leash and barely pulls. He knows “sit” and is learning “stay” and “lay down”. He loves chewing on toys and treats (beef hides, kong balls, squeaky toys). His foster family thinks that he would be the perfect dog for an active person or family as his energy level is quite high.
