Meet the Shit zu’s! Their names are Bernie (the larger one), and Jose (the smaller one). Bernie is the more out going, likes kids and cuddles and will go outside easily when prompted. Walks on a leash, and generally enjoys being around the people in his home. He wears the red sweater in the above pictures. Jose is the more timid and shy of the two. He does like to play with other dogs and loves toys! He wears the green sweater.

These two are both neutered males, adults and need to be adopted together.

Jimmy Needs Surgery

Jimmy requires femoral head surgery. A procedure that will cost approx $1000. That is money Misty Creek does not have. Jimmy is the sweetest little boy you will ever find! That’s why we don’t believe it is fair for Jimmy to go through life without the use of his back leg. Sherman is a very sweet boy, but she seizure medicine is costing us a great deal. We want Sherman to live a long and happy life, free from the pain and stress of seizures. In order for that to happen Sherman needed to have several vet visits, blood work and put on a prescription. We are glad to help him while he waits for the perfect forever home to come along, but we could really use some help with the bills. If you can spare a little or lot to help out this handsome fellow, we know Sherman would really appreciate it!
Jimmy is the sweetest little boy you will ever find! Such a little character, that’s why we don’t think it is fair for Jimmy to go through life without the use of his back leg. Jimmy is due for more testing to see what is wrong with his leg. That means more vet bills. If you want to help this little guy get a new lease on life please donate today!
Fuzzy is an older gentlemen, and with age comes health problems. Fuzzy’s hips have been causing him a little discomfort lately. Fuzzy will be given the best possible care until he is adopted or shares his final days with us. That, however, is a large expense. If you feel this lovable old man deserves some TLC in his final years please help us provide that by donating.

Basomi is a 2 year old mixed breed, spayed female. Medium sized. She came up from a high kill shelter in LA. Calm but still playful girl, seems very nice. She is a big cuddler! Bessie was returned to us. She is fearful and needs a home that will make her feel safe and protected. She would do well with another dog.

Carley

Carley is a 3 year old lab mix. She came from the Kalispell Animal Shelter from a backyard breeder who was forced to surrender her dogs due to the severe ill health of all of them. Carley came to the shelter with deformed front leg which was broken in puppy hood, had healed improperly and was left to drag as she walked. She was bred like this for the remainder of her time with the previous owner. The Kalispell shelter amputated her leg to give her an opportunity to move without hindrance and she blossomed into the ball-loving, people-adoring pup she is now! Her mobility is amazing, she navigates flights of stairs, can jump on the couch and runs like the wind. Carley is crate trained, 99% house trained, walks great on leash and is amazing with cats and dogs. She is easy to correct and responds well to her name, praise and pets. Because of her history she tends to find comfort and safety in specific spaces of the house, most likely due to being confined in her previous life and takes a bit of coaxing to move outside of her comfort areas. Carley would be a great addition for any home considering a second dog or for a home without other animals.

Caylee is a Chihuahua puppy, about 8 months old. She is the only female from the litter that came from LA. She is a real cuddler, and loves to be held and pampered. She is very shy at first but once she warms up to you she is a real sweetie!

Chaz

Chaz is a Chihuahua puppy, about 8 months old. He is a male and part of a litter that came from LA. He is ”Chaz the Spaz” for being such a little character. But he is a sweet guy. He seems to get along ok with sister and is starting to warm up to the bigger dogs in his foster home. He is a little shy at first but warms up pretty quick to people.

Buster is an approximately 8 month old neutered male chihuahua cross from LA. While he is fearful at times, he has settled in well to his foster home and absolutely loves cuddling! Buster is crate trained, his house training is coming along and gets along with other dogs. With patience and gentle, reward-based training he will continue to improve every day.

New Fee Explanation

Due to the ever climbing cost to care for all the dogs that come through Misty Creek Dog Rescue our adoption fees have increased. This will also eliminate any confusion surrounding the difference between dogs that are neutered/spayed and puppies that are not.

Our New Fees:

All dogs will now cost $375 plus gst to adopt.

All dogs that are over the age of 6 months will continue to be spayed/neutered before adoption.

All dogs under the age of 6 months will be spayed/neutered and microchipped at Misty Creeks expense and will be included in your adoption fee. Any other costs associated with the surgery will be the adopters responsibility. This must be done at 6 months. The adopter is responsible for booking the appointment, however, it must be done at Fish Creek Veterinary Hospital

Bob is approx 3-4 yr old lab x.He is such a good natured boy. He is good with other dogs, kids and cats. He is house trained and very calm inside. He is very eager to please and is highly food motivated which makes learning

Tricks quite easy! He loves his people and enjoys spending time at your feet after a good walk! He is a large dog and a real sweetie!

Ben is a 5 year old male, neutered, that has spent most of his life living on his own without a home or family. He is a shepherd rotti cross and is a very sweet boy. This big boy came all the way from the North West Territories looking for his home. He is good with most dogs, not so good with cats and tips the scale at about 100lbs.

Chelsea is a 2 year old, spayed female, Shepherd mix. She is very cuddly and sweet. Chelsea is house trained and learns new things very fast, she has a good start on her manners already. She will play well with resident dog but is not fond of dominant dogs. Chelsea is an active dog, she has a slender build and is not too large.

Lilo is a sweet little girl, about 12 weeks. She is a Chihuahua and is going to grow into a small dog. She is the sister to Hondo. Both are active, playful little pups that seem to get along well with everything. They are curious youngsters and very sweet!
